The Bankside Journal No.006

The Bankside Journal

We don't know about you, but we are getting very bored of this rain! All our rivers are in flood and have been for weeks now. We are getting seriously itchy feet due to lack of time spent on the water. It also means we don't have any interesting fishy tales to share with you this week.

However, all is not lost, we have found some other interesting stuff that we thought we would share with you from our adventures this past week.

All the best,

Oscar and Nell

Burnsall is a beautiful village in the heart of The Yorkshire Dales. Built on the banks of the River Wharfe and surrounded by stunning fells, and generally incredible scenery. This village is a must visit for any Angler. The river here offers spectacular fishing and is easily accessed via the local angling club, whose website you can find here. The village also happens to have our new favourite Dales cafe. Offering delicious home made food and excellent coffee its the perfect place to stop for a break in your fishing. Its called The Riverbank Burnsall and its open Thursday - Sunday.

Guided Fishing

We are now less than a month away from the start of the Trout Season and our thoughts are turning to warmer days and free rising fish. If you are looking for some exciting fishing this summer then why not check out our new guiding operation Boatfield Fly Fishing and join us for a day or two in the Yorkshire Dales this spring, summer, or autumn.

"Live The Stream" The Story Of Joe Humphreys.

This guy is a truly inspiring. 90 years young and he's out on the water teaching people to fish and saving his rivers from pollution. This film is well worth a watch, his energy is infectious and it will be sure to brighten up your day.

These guys make some seriously good coffee. Roasted in North Yorkshire and full of flavour. We tried it at the Riverbank Burnsall.

Check them out here.
