bag care

One of the best things about dry-waxed canvas fabric is how it ages. Over time it develops a beautiful patina, making each bag unique.

There are two main types of materials we have used to make our bags and how you maintain your bag depends on the fabric used. If in doubt, contact us and we will tell you how to reproof your individual bag.

  • Bags BEFORE August 2021 and the Acorn Edition

→ Hand wash only. These bags don’t like washing machines.

→ If it gets dirty, let it dry and then brush off the dirt.

→ Reproof your bag after washing using reproofing spray.

  • Bags AFTER August 2021 (INCLUDING VOLUME 1)

→ Hand-washing is preferred, HOWEVER this material can be machine washed. Ensure to wash at 30℃ on low speed and let completely dry.

→ Only machine wash 1-2 times per year.

→ If it gets dirty, let it dry and then brush off the dirt.

→ Reproof your bag after washing.

To keep the water beading up and rolling off, your bag will need reproofing over the course of its life. We suggest you reproof your pack once every one to two years, depending on use.

  • Fabric has slightly waxy feel

If you purchased a bag that has a slight waxy feel (colours include black, forest, grey, green, navy or sandstone in colour), you can reproof your bag with either a wax bar or reproofing spray.

  • Fabric does not have a waxy feel

If you purchased a bag that doesn’t have a slight waxy feel (colours include khaki, dark blue, yellow) and every bag after August 2021, you can only reproof your bag with reproofing spray.
