As seen in WIRED & Stuff
We feel responsible for everything we put out into the world. To make sure we keep our impact as low as possible we only make 25 bags a week.
Our hardwearing, weatherproof, GOTS certified organic dry-waxed cotton uses 88% less water and 62% less energy than conventional cotton. It also uses zero toxic chemicals in its production.
This bag is almost plastic-free (we use a recycled polyester thread)
Our bags are made to last a lifetime, but we get that not everyone wants to keep something that long.
To avoid your bag ending up in the back of the closet, or worse, the bin, we will take your bag back in exchange for BearMade credit (10% of the bags original value).
We will then recycle the parts from that bag and make it into something new.

who cares wins
Whilst we love making great bags, we think there is a lot more we can do with our platform and profits. So we started The Wildish Club. A movement that brings awesome people together to do interesting stuff outdoors.
one less thing to worry about
Accidents happen and even the best materials can fail. To give you peace of mind, all our products are guaranteed to last.

notes from the designer
We feel personally responsible for the things we put out into the world and believe business should be a force for good.
to keep our impact low we:
→ Only make 25 bags a week
→ Will repair your bag for life
→ Will recycle your bag at the end of its life
→ Carbon offset all that we make and do. We plant trees locally (we actually plant
them) and in places where they will have a big impact with the help of Ecologi.
fair & honest pricing
After all costs this bag leaves us with a margin of £75. That margin goes into:
→ Carbon offsetting
→ Running The Wildish Club
→ Good coffee
→ General running costs
We take our environmental responsibility seriously. For each of these bags sold there will be:
5 trees planted + 15kg CO2e offset
Do you really only make 25 bags a week?
We sure do! 25 bags is our maximum capacity and we have no interest in making more than that. It means we can take great care over every detail in all stages of production.
Think 25 bags sounds like a lot? It's not. Rolls Royce actually make over 60 cars per week.
Are your bags waterproof?
Our bags are not totally waterproof, very few are. But they are pretty damn close. We spent an hour throwing them around in a waterfall and water only got in when we forgot to roll the top down....
Can I customise this bag?
Sometimes we can, sometimes we can't. It depends on the product. If you want to know more, send us an email and let us know what product you would like to personalise, along with what sort of personalisation you would like.
What can I fit in this bag?
This is a hard question to answer as so many things are different shapes and sizes. However, for city use we typically take a 16" or 14" laptop or tablet, a large pair of headphones, a magazine, a book/notebook a jumper, a jacket and a bottle of water.
For outdoor use we would typically take a jacket, a jumper, a water bottle, a small first aid kit, some snacks, a small stove, kettle and mugs.
In both these scenarios we would still have space left in the bag.
don't just take our word for it
We've been featured in some of the worlds best publications and have awesome customers who leave us reviews like the ones below.
I bought this for my wife, who is a smaller woman. She finds the bag comfortable and easy to adjust, and very well made. It has a good capacity without giving the impression that you are setting off on a camping trip. Delivery was prompt even in the run up to Christmas.
I searched and I searched...and I searched a bit more - then I bougt the perfect bag for me. It arrived two days later and words cannot describe the disappointment I felt upon opening the plastic wrapped parcel. Sent it straight back and got a Bear Made creation instead, which I should have just done in the first place! Genuinely couldn't be happier. Beautifully made - really looks like something I'll enjoy for years. I rarely write reviews but I am actually happy about a bag, the packaging and the personal nature of the whole experience. By the way, the internal bottle holder is a little narrow for some bottles, but is absolutely perfect for an umbrella, which I just put in mine. I'm not usually happy about spending money but will no doubt be back. Thanks
Bought the backpack for commuting. Its great - comfortable with laptop and weight in it, and big enough for headphones, book etc
Backpack arrived very quickly, even packaged with artwork and thank you note. The backpack is made with very high quality canvas and the buckle is absolutely an overkill for a backpack but much appreciated with some internal organisations for essentials. Size is great for weekend trip and going around the city. Only drawback is that the pack is slightly heavy but that's due to the durable and thick canvas materials. Above all, a great sturdy backpack.
I just want to start by saying this bag is lovely, the quality is incredible and I loved the experience I had when I received it in the post. The only issue I have with this bag is that the water bottle holder is absolutely tiny! I can’t find a bottle that will fit anywhere. It’s not a huge downside but it would be great if it could fit a normal sized bottle in it! If that doesn’t bother you then this bug is an incredible choice.
Thanks so much for the feedback Tobin and so awesome to hear that you love the bag!
Sorry to hear the bottle pocket doesn’t work for you. When we were designing the bag it was tough to strike a balance between something that worked as a bottle pocket but didn’t stick too far out into the bag so that it would be a nuisance when putting things in or taking them out. We did test it with a bunch of our bottles, Sigg, Dopper and a non brand stainless steel and it worked great. They were all under 1L though, mostly 500ml to 750ml.
The bottle we personally use in the pocket is from Sigg and has a 72mm bottom diameter and takes up to 750ml.
We’ve got a spare bottle here so will send it out to you so you can try it in your bag.
